Harvy Liwanag joins Editorial Board of Health Research Policy and Systems

Dr. Harvy Joy Liwanag, who is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Community Health and Health(care) Systems Research Group, has joined the editorial board of Health Research Policy and Systems as associate editor since October 2023.

Published in collaboration with the World Health Organization, Health Research Policy and Systems is a journal that “covers all aspects of the organization and use of health research.” The journal has a special focus on articles that explore the role of evidence-informed health policy in ensuring that knowledge from research is used to improve health systems and health equity. Harvy joins a new batch of associate editorsmany of whom are early-to-mid-career researchers based in institutions from different countrieswho have been appointed to the editorial board. Prof. Kathryn Oliver of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK) and Prof. Chigozie Jesse Uneke of Ebonyi State University (Nigeria) serve as editors-in-chief.

Harvy, who is originally from the Philippines, has this to say about his new role: “As associate editor, I hope to contribute a fresh perspective from early-career researchers and the voice of the global south and play an active role in shaping the future of this journal as an influential player in the field of health policy and systems research.
