ISPM Researchers Co-Author a Policy Brief for the G20 Meeting in India

Harvy Joy Liwanag, Annika Frahsa, and Sophie Meyer of the Community Health and Health(care) Systems Research Group collaborated with colleagues in India, South Africa, and the United Kingdom to develop a T20 policy brief entitled, “Transforming Health Systems Towards Holistic Outcomes in the G20 and Beyond.”

The T20 (Think 20) is an engagement process that serves as an “ideas bank” for the G20 by bringing together think tanks and experts to propose policy recommendations to the G20.

This T20 policy brief makes a case for using the disruption from the COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity to transform health systems based on three goals: (a) reorientation to Primary Health Care; (b) cultural integration; and (c) community participation.

The recommendations are aimed at contributing to the agenda of the leaders of the G20 countries when they meet for their annual meeting which is being hosted by India this year. The policy brief also contributes to work stream by the RG on science-to-policy interaction.

The policy brief can be accessed through the T20 website:
